Why Kids Yoga?

I believe Yoga is accessible to every single body in the world. If you can breathe, you can do Yoga. As a Yoga Teacher, specifically certified to teach Kids from the age of 2, I firmly believe that our children have the capability to change and shape our entire world. Kids Yoga helps promotes healthy social peer interaction. Through Yoga, kids learn to make eye contact, foster compassion and empathy, gain a sense of self confidence and empower one another in a non competitive environment. We live in a world filled with technology. During Yoga, we put the screens away and we focus on our bodies. How do we feel today? How can we help improve how we feel? How can we notice the difference on a day to day basis? How can we take this into our lives OFF of our yoga mats? These are questions that our children learn the answers to in yoga. Yoga is a self exploration. Our kids also learn asanas, or yoga poses, during class. Physically, they gain flexibility, strength, coordination, body awareness, increased concentration, higher self esteem and the list goes on. Through Yoga and play, we use our bodies to connect with ourselves and the natural world around us. I end each class with a guided meditation and children of all ages connect to that.

I am fortunate to love what I do. I am able to travel to various local schools and share Yoga with kids & staff.
