Mary Jean

I have been playing sports since I was thrown into the pool with my older siblings at the age of 2 and found a love of the water and swimming. As an athlete playing softball, soccer and tennis in high school and then tennis in college, I wish I had found yoga sooner in my life. As an adult, I fell in love with the practice as it combines mindfulness to movement in a synergy often found in sports. I am a registered 200 hour  yoga teacher, also certified in Restorative and Kid’s Yoga. After a lifetime of movement, taking time to be still is a challenge, yoga has offered this to me and I am beyond grateful. Dealing with traumatic orthopedic injuries, yoga has taught me patience and the importance of being in the moment. I live in Poughkeepsie with my husband, my adored yellow Lab, Jake and a rotten little cat named Abby. I love the ocean, reading, swimming, and learning. Looking forward to sharing my yoga practice with you.
